Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) is the peak body representing more than 235 independent schools, including your child’s school, and advocates on behalf of schools and their communities.

What are we asking for?

Deliver fair funding that ensures our schools are sustainable and can meet the rising costs of educating students across our diverse sector.

Invest in our schools to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of growing metropolitan and regional communities.

Abolish payroll tax so schools aren’t forced to raise fees, cut programs or reduce staff to pay a tax that only Victorian schools are liable for.

I’m a proud parent of a child attending [select your school above], and I’m writing ahead of the Victorian state election on 28 November. There are many reasons why I chose this independent school for my child. [tick your reasons above and they will appear here] Like many families, we work hard to manage the cost of education. We want to keep giving our children the opportunities and support that led us to choose their school. Rising costs put pressure on schools and families alike, making it harder to keep fees affordable and maintain the programs, staff and support students need. That’s why I’m asking you to support three priorities for Victorian independent schools and the families who choose them: 1. Deliver fair funding that ensures our schools are sustainable and meets the rising costs of educating students across our diverse sector. 2. Invest in our schools to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of growing metropolitan and regional communities. 3. Abolish payroll tax so schools aren’t forced to raise fees, cut programs or reduce staff to pay a tax that only Victorian schools are liable for. These commitments would help keep independent school education within reach for families like mine, support schools to plan for the future and protect the diversity of educational opportunities available to Victorian children.
