Program Description:

Video is increasingly becoming a 21st century literacy. It can be a powerful communications and creativity tool across all areas of the curriculum at all levels of education. Video is an ideal learning, assessment and reflection tool because it can capture learning as it takes place. It helps students construct and reflect on their learning, therefore consolidating their understanding to a higher and more comprehensive level. It is the ideal multimodal media because it can feature an artistic mix of moving images, still images, music, voice, animation, special effects and text.

Learning Outcomes:

It is assumed that participants already have at least a basic understanding of how to capture video assets and do simple edits with Adobe Premiere Pro which is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud and available in most schools.

This one-day workshop will:

  • help video editors enhance their skills and their productions with a range of editing shortcuts, audio techniques, colour correction options, special green screen effects and more
  • show how Adobe Character Animator and Photoshop can be used to feature animated characters into your video productions
  • further develop understanding about modern communication and creativity skills
  • provide the opportunity to share ideas to inspire, motivate and engage students.

Tools, devices and apps to bring along:

To make the most of the session, each participant should bring their own or a school laptop, preferably with the following software installed:
