Program Description: 

In this one-day workshop, teacher will explore how to integrate coding and algorithmic thinking into the primary mathematics curriculum, supporting the new digital technologies curriculum. Participants will also investigate ways to collect, interpret and represent data in digital systems. 

Learning Outcomes: 

This workshop provides ideas for developing digital literacies in primary students, preparing them for the innovation era. 

This is a hands-on workshop and teachers need to bring their own or a school laptop and iPad, if possible. Wireless access will be provided. Please ensure that you have access privileges to network settings to enable wireless access and installation of appropriate software. Please also bring the charging cord. 

Presenter Information – Rachel Kennedy 

Rachel Kennedy is an Education IT consultant with 25 years of experience in education, both as a primary classroom teacher, IT manager and elearning consultant. She provides professional learning to teachers exploring technologies in the classroom. Rachel also works with leading education providers in the design of online multimedia content and education websites, elearning and instructional design, and curriculum writing.
